Small Business Economy Grows Modestly in Early 2014
NewtekOne Business Services announced today the release of the SB Authority Index of small business indicators for January 2014 reaching 125.08 points. The Russell Microcap Index, new business formations and the ADP employment report led the increase. The SB Authority Index is up 0.49% from December 2013. On a year-over-year comparison, the SB Authority Index is up 7.1%.
NewtekOne Chairman, President & CEO Barry Sloane commented, "The SB Authority Index continues to consistently march along on a modestly upward-sloping trend led by the Russell Microcap Index, new business formations and the ADP employment report. The index is growing modestly, as is the small business and overall economy. We see this trend continuing throughout the first quarter."
