Ecommerce Sites: More Effective Than a ‘Free Kittens’ Sign

When you have a boxful of kittens to give away, what do you do? You nail a cardboard sign to a telephone pole.
But when you have products or services to sell, do you still rely on the
el cheapo method of bringing customers in?
You need to join the cyber-revolution.
“Business today is local,” we wrote on our
Forbes.com blog. “You cannot be in business today without an internet billboard or brochure (aka a functioning website).”
Having a physical location lets customers come to you, but having a website brings your business into people’s homes and smartphones.
Ecommerce sales are expected to grow through the next two years. But our
April 2011 Market Sentiment Survey showed that business owners are not tapping into their ecommerce potential as they could.
